Public spaces of the city of Brno - theoretical work

Master´s thesis adresses the issue of public spaces of inner city of Brno. These spaces have good prerequisities to become attractive places for everyday use or for spending a good free time. These prerequsities include for example compact city structure, well defined public spaces, walking city distances, presence of public and commercial facilities and distinctive genius loci. But public spaces in these localities often do not fulfill their own potential and stay as average free space inbetween buildings. Thesis suggests a detailed system for categorisation of squares and streets in the inner city of Brno and examines the reasons for potential non-fulfillment on these typologies, it tries to find out the problems of public spaces and how they can be solved.

FEMM program - preparation of education materials

The manual is supposed to introduce to users the program FEMM. It is designed for solving low freqency electromagnetics problems. It shoul allow students, who are not experienced with work in english interface programs, make a model and set parametres needed for successful solution of required problem. There is description of setting and location of important program elements. Users have to quickly understand, how to work in program. FEMM work indeed in two dimensional mode and it is simplier, than expensive 3D programs, on the other hand, he is free for commercial and noncommercial use. It makes this program very interesting for home using by students. Licence restricton is related with program code itself and selling only.

Architectonic manual for Znojmo

This thesis aims to describe the urban development of the royal town of Znojmo from its beginning to the present and chart the settled principles of architectural and urban planning. Also aims to characterize the architectural and construction details and examples to define the negative consequences of violations of established rules.

Building project

This master's thesis focuses on a preparation of a multifunctional building in Brno, on Vídeňská street. It is based on a project that has been realized in 2005. Construction-technological preparation of this project includes the design of securing of time, financial, and human resources, project of construction site layout, a design of construction machines setup, technological manual for construction of monolithic reinforced concrete structure, plan of controls and tests for quality, and a manual for obtaining permission for using public space and protection of historical tree.

Software tools for creating project documentation

This Bachelor thesis deals with software tools for the creation of project documentation. The thesis starts with an introduction to project documentation, where its history, the timeline of creation and the benefits for end users are described. The next chapterpresents the division and characteristics of the projection tools. Subsequently, the characteristics of the most commonly used programs for the creation of project documentation are presented, which are divided into categories according to their use. The thesisalso provides an overview of selected programs used by designers. The following part focuses on the creation of a model project of a single-storey family house. The project includes technical report, layout, switchboard design and budget. The final part presents manuals for the design of project documentation, which include work with the programs ElProCAD, Sichr and Verox.

Innovation of digital image processing exercises

The bachelor thesis deals with innovation of lectures in the field of image processing. The innovation consists in the preparation of instructions for individual exercises in alternative programs, Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended is now used in exercises. The first chapter deals with color models, spaces, color management and bitmap file formats. The second chapter introduces alternative bitmap editors – Adobe Photoshop CC 2021, GIMP, Affinity Photo, Zoner Photo Studio X, Corel PaintShop Pro 2022. Then they are compared according to several criteria, the cost for the school and students is considered and a selection of programs suitable for teaching image processing is made. In the next chapters, instructions for individual exercises are made in selected programs and an evaluation of the suitability of these programs for teaching is performed.

Phonetic processing of speech using Praat

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a Czech manual for beginners with software Praat. Praat is a software package designed for speech processing. It can be used for speech analysis and synthesis. In this work is described Praat user interface, operations with files in the program, sound recording, editing and analysis of these sounds. Manual is supplemented with examples of solved phonetic problems. The second goal of this thesis is to create a script to extract vowels and some consonants from voice records. The thesis contains description of chosen principles of recognition of vowels based on formants and intensity contour and the principle of recognition of consonants based on the ratios of energy in predetermined frequency bands. The success rate of the script is thoroughly examined and various optimization methods are discussed.

Effective use of 3D Cad systems in the field of process engineering-II

The aim of this work was adoption and description of correct technigues of creation basic mechanical components under CAD system SolidWorks. This gained know ledge was then used for creation of library of standard parts used in process engineering with focus on design of pipeline systems. Conceretaly, the assembly of flouged circular Y-branch for duct system was solved. The possibility for its further modification of dimension as well as transformation into parts of similar shape was analysed. Finally, user manual describing the user interface and necessary design procedures was prepared.
